Ashoka’s Youth Venture organized our first ever TEDxYSE on November 13, 2010, a global event that brought together some of the world’s most inspiring young social entrepreneurs.  We also call them “changemakers.”

What the day held

The day was replete with short, inspiring, and thought-provoking 10 to 12 minute TED-style talks. There were also long breaks to encourage people to interact, network, and reflect on the speeches. A reception  followed the event.

Our speakers included youth social entrepreneurs, social innovators, an actor, a consultant, and performers. We learned about creating sustainable business and education in Sierra Leone; heard a Julliard-trained, internationally acclaimed musician and philanthropist; discovered new details about social enterprises.
